WEEK 9 RANKINGS UPDATED + VS. ECR
WEEK 9 RANKINGS
*Sorry BEASTS will be back next week. You can figure out who my choices would be based on the difference of ECR (Expert Consensus Ranking). Analysis is below. The Rankings below in the ECR section is what my final rankings suggests/that is what will be used in the Expert Competition.
May see one or two changes at 9:30 tomorrow morning Pacific time.
FINAL RANKINGS VS. ECR
QB
1. AARON RODGERS @ ARI
Aaron needs Jordy back this week, regardless he is always a threat for 300 Yards and 3 TDs. The running game is nothing they are comfortable with, which means Rodgers will be throwing often. Patrick Peterson has been burned often this season (Brian Hartline, Michael Crabtree (last week)).
2. DREW BREES VS. PHI
Brees was finally slowed down by a great Broncos defense. Last time I checked the Eagles defense is a joke giving up 3 TDs through the air even in terrible conditions while at home, coming off of a bye. Nandi is not the same, Brees is going to bring the FIRE POWER on Monday Night.
3. MATT STAFFORD @ JAX
If Stafford has a good game this week all of his owners will be licking their chops the rest of the season. Staffy finally got what he needs with Titus Young being the #2 WR. He could get so hot that no defense can even compete. Ala Drew Brees.
4. MICHAEL VICK @ NO
Now or never. If Vick is going to do anything this season, this is it. The Saints defense is not known for being good, nor average. The only risk of Vick is he has to start fast. If he does not start fast, Nick Foles could be in there by halftime. Should not be a problem.
5. CAM NEWTON @ WAS
The Redskins pass defense gives up 300 Yards games like Kim Kardashian gives it up to anyone rocking a pro athlete jersey. Cam is coming off what is probably his best passing performance all season with over 300 Yards. This is a great game for Cam to build momentum, if there is any in the tank.
6. JOSH FREEMAN @ OAK
TDS A MAKE THEM DANCE. Last week, more on how to sell him on BEAST DOME soon.
7. MATT RYAN VS. DAL
Ryan has the WRs to be the #1 QB every week, playing at home is dangerous. Especially on Sunday Night Football where the Fans will be pumped to see their undefeated team.
8. PEYTON MANNING @ CIN
He maybe unstoppable right now. But this is a week where he could have that surprise not 300 Yard/3 TD game. Bengals defense is better than the past few matchups Peyton has dealt with, especially with Leon Hall, Nate Clements, and Reggie Nelson if he is healthy. Regardless, start him with confidence.
9. ELI MANNING VS. PIT
Weather conditions can throw him all over the map on these rankings. This is where I have him now as he has the weapons to be better than anyone on this list. Victor Cruz is the most lethal WR in the game. Hakeem Nicks is a BEAST.
10. ROBERT GRIFFIN III VS. CAR
RGIII and that passing game is too inconsistent to trust. Carolina was able to slow down Jay Cutler and his passing attack, I would take Cutlers passing numbers usually above RGIII more weeks than not. So it will be another week hoping RGIII gets 14-28 Points running. Carolina should game plan and be ready for it, their defense is playing better.
11. BEN ROETHLISBERGER @ NYG
Weather alert. Stay tuned, but as of now Big Ben is a hot QB. The Steelers may have trouble running the ball against the improved Giants Run D. Which could lead to a lot of pass attempts.
If the weather holds up.
12. ANDREW LUCK VS. MIA
The Dolphins give up big games to QBs more often than not. Although Luck did disappoint against the Titans last week, look for that to be a different story as he could do much better at home. Is he the greatest start this week?
No.
But he can give you 15-23 Points without a blink of the eye.
13. JAY CUTLER @ TEN
Cutler likes to surprise in good matchups. This is a good matchcup, Cutler is overdue for some passing Yards and TDs. While he will face heavy pressure, he will also fling the ball to B-Marsh more often than not.
14. JOHN SKELTON VS. GB
The Packers are back to the bad defense they were last season. To see Blaine Gabbert throw a big last week..Why will that not happen this week? Expect Skelton to get near, or even past the 300 Yard mark this week.
15. TONY ROMO @ ATL
If DeMarco Murray does not play this week, or Felix Jones.
TONY ROMO GETS A HUGE BOOST IN THE RANKINGS.
The Cowboys threw the ball 62 times last week, which means they could easily do that again. Falcons will make them put up points.
16. MATT SCHAUB VS. BUF
Schaub is not dependable because the Texans do not throw enough to be considered a lethal team. While the matchup is great on paper, it does not always mean it is going to be a good game.
Schaub however will get plenty of red zone pass attempts. Up to him to convert.
17. CARSON PALMER VS. TB
Palmer is not dependable. Bucs Defense is hot.
This is not a terrible start, but there are definitely safer ones which will leave you happier on Sunday.
18. JOE FLACCO @ CLE
Browns Defense is on one right now. Ever since Joe Haden came back different story for this unit.
Joe Flacco needs a big game, but going to Cleveland is never a good thing for the Ravens. NEVER.
19. BRANDON WEEDEN VS. BAL
Weeden can win over the hearts of many Browns fans with a big game against Baltimore this week.
He is ready for it, just a matter of having more WRs on the team. Still he can put up 250+ Yards and 2 TDs this week if the Ravens continue to be bad against the pass.
20. ANDY DALTON VS. DEN
AJ Green has a tough matchup with Champ Bailey coming up. Which means Dalton is not a safe start at all.
21. RYAN TANNEHILL @ IND
The Colts defense is very prone to giving up the monster game.
Tannehill did have that explosive 400+ Yard game against the Cardinals earlier this year.
First he has to be deemed healthy to play.
22. PHILLIP RIVERS VS. KC
Wrong call on this one. His ECR was #17, Chiefs defense has a lot more problems than many though if Rivers is getting semi-vintage numbers with 250 Yards/2 TDs.
23. RUSSEL WILSON VS. MIN
Marshawn Lynch should have a big game against the Vikings, which in turn will allow Russell Wilson be a game manager in this one.
24. BLAINE GABBERT VS. DET
Blaine is hot, he has a good matchup.
Lions are good against the run, not so great against the pass.
Really want a sleeper pick roll, with Blaine. However do not come crying back as 200 Yards/1 TD is more than possible.
25. RYAN FITZPATRICK @ HOU
Nothing looks appealing about this matchup. Maybe Stevie can get past Jonathan Joesph who is struggling, but that is a maybe.
26. MATT HASSELBECK VS. CHI
Jake Locker will enjoy watching this game from the sidelines.
If Hasselbeck can do well against the Bears, the job is his the R.O.S.
Chances are he does not, Kenny Britt is not the same player.
27. MATT CASSEL @ SD
Great call.
28. CHRISTIAN PONDER @ SEA
Will be a great call.
RB
1. ARIAN FOSTER VS. BUF
Get your engines ready. Anything less than a great game is a bad game.
2. RAY RICE @ CLE
This has 2 TD/100 Yards written all over it. Ray Rice will be fresh and getting his touches consistently off of the bye.
3. TRENT RICHARDSON VS. BAL
T-Rich is back to being a BEAST. Which means you can start him in this great matchup against the Ravens who have been getting GASHED by opposing RBs this week.
4. LESEAN MCCOY @ NO
Shady owners are barking at Michael Vick this season who is playing like a rookie with terrible turnover problems. As long as Vick does his job, Shady will do his. Even if Vick does not, Shady will probably do his. Start him with confidence.
5. MATT FORTE @ TEN
Forte is the man for the Bears right now. They are going to ride on his tail coat the rest of the season and see how far he can take them. He has 100 Total Yards written all over himself this week. Just a matter of executing. Which should not be a problem. Who knows, he can possibly be the goal line RB this week.
6. MARSHAWN LYNCH VS. MIN
BEAST MODE will GASH a Vikings run D that has really struggled as of late. Lynch has rushed for over 100 Yards against 49ers and Lions in back-to-back weeks. This is the 3rd powerhouse run D of the NFC.
7. ADRIAN PETERSON @ SEA
All Day. He’s back, Seattle has a good run D. But there really is not a run D that can shut him out. Expect him to have over 100 Yards on the ground once again.
8. RYAN MATHEWS VS. KC
Phillip Rivers finally played like a man and stole his TDs. Maybe next week, good time to Buy Low.
9. WILLIS MCGAHEE @ CIN
Whoever has not seen Willis run this season is 10 steps behind the game. He is looking like a full throttle back, and one that I would want to play every week to close out the season.
10. DARREN MCFADDEN VS. TB
Run DMC has a tough matchup, but he is starting to get some momentum. When DMC has momentum, you ride with that momentum. 29 Carries last week shows they are not going to hold him back.
11. ALFRED MORRIS VS. CAR
RGIII will give Morris his chances for a big game. He is running well this season, no reason to bench him in this nice matchup as the Panthers do miss Jon Beason whether they admit it or not.
12. DOUG MARTIN @ OAK
Losing another offensive lineman hurts Martin. At the same time, this offense can pass the ball enough to keep defenses honest leaving Martin with plenty of running room. Not a great matchup for Douggie Fresh, but not a terrible one either.
13. JAMAAL CHARLES @ SD
Owners should have SOLD HIGH like I suggested in the last TRADE MARKET.
14. DEMARCO MURRAY @ ATL
Likely out, you will see his update in the ECR Saturday.
15. REGGIE BUSH @ IND
Sooner or later he is going to break out for a big game. The Colts Run D did get better with Angerer returning, but it is still not the scariest group at all. This is a great bounce back opportunity week for Reggie.
16. JONATHAN STEWART @ WAS
J-STEW looks to be the man in Carolina, and if Cam Newton has good success against the Redskins, then Stewart can end up with 100 Total Yards. TD is key.
17. AHMAD BRADSHAW VS. PIT
Bradshaw is questionable for the game, but if he plays you can expect some great numbers as he has been one of the best Running Backs this season. 80 Total Yards should be in the books, the TD is the difference maker.
18. CHRIS JOHNSON VS. CHI
Not a lot to like about this matchup. None at all. I would pass on CJ2K this week unless…He really is CJ2K this season. I think he is more of a good product of a RB who needs his passing game. I don’t see the passing game this week.
19. FRED JACKSON @ HOU
F-Jax attacks. He is back to being that talented trustworthy back that made him a 4th round pick. Only problem is CJ Spiller is a force. Jackson should get near 20 Touches if the Bills are serious about winning.
20. CJ SPILLER @ HOU
He gets his touches, he only needs 10 to have a game, and he should get more than 10. Houston could be ready to go after the bye, but all it takes is one big play for Spiller to win your fantasy day.
21. DARREN SPROLES VS. PHI
Broken hand. Hopefully you saw that I said to trade him Thursday in the Trade Market.
22. RASHAD JENNINGS VS. DET
Lions run defense has been very solid over the last few weeks. Besides one long 77 yard TD run by Lynch last week. He was held to less than 50 Yards on the ground. Jennings has a tough matchup, but always a threat for 100 Total Yards.
23. ISAAC REDMAN @ NYG
This was originally Dwyer, but now it looks like Redman is ready to handle the full load. The Steelers will likely pass more if they can with the wind conditions. Redman is a great receiver out of the backfield, and is a great start in PPR leagues. Could get a rankings boost when the ECR comes out.
24. PIERRE THOMAS VS. PHI
With Sproles breaking his hand you can expect a very nice value boost. Pierre is a great RB and now will have the opportunity to show that on 16 carries at least. Watch out.
25. BENJARVUS GREEN-ELLIS VS. DEN
The Law Firm will not cover 50 Yard performances this week. He will only get paid in TDs this week. This week, it will not be easy for those TDs to come.
26. DANIEL THOMAS @ IND
This is his sleeper week. If you need a plug-n-play after getting more touches than Reggie last week…
I would roll with Daniel.
27. DONALD BROWN VS. MIA
80 Total Yards will not be money in the bank, but he is on the right track to get back on the good side of all his fantasy owners with a nice game Sunday. He looked healthy in his return.
28. MICHAEL TURNER VS. DAL
Turner is going to get his carries. Will Dallas make it easy for the Burner this week is the real question.
29. MIKEL LESHOURE @ JAX
Joique Bell and Kevin Smith are coming for him. His leash is incredibly short these days.
30. JACQUIZZ RODGERS VS. DAL
Quizz has momentum last week and is a big play away on Sunday Night Football. For you loyal Fantasy Football users that still have him, so do I. In every league.
31. ALEX GREEN @ ARI
James Starks is coming and practicing more. Expect a huge downgrade.
32. JOIQUE BELL @ JAX
He was the main factor of their comeback last week. Well Kevin Smith actually led them to one of the 4th quarter TD drives. Joique will get his opportunities this week.
33. LAROD STEPHENS HOWLING VS. GB
Could somehow get 80 Yards. Likely to not though as he is nothing special. These Packers Linebackers have some big MONSTERIOUS size, they will eat him alive.
34. VICK BALLARD VS. MIA
Now going to split time with Brown, that should not last too long once Brown looks completely healthy. Miami is good against bulky running backs, and that is exactly what Ballard brings to the table. Look for him to be the Steven Jackson, to Donlad Brown’s (Darryl Richardson).
35. DEANGLO WILLIAMS @ WAS
Might still get carries just because the Panthers are paying him so much.
36. BRYCE BROWN @ NO
Could pull a Ronnie Hillman if you are desperate.
37. PEYTON HILLIS @ SD
Not good at all. He should not be taking so much PT away from Charles. The Chiefs are a far worst team.
38. FELIX JONES/PHILLIP TANNER @ ATL
Felix will get a boost up in the rankings but first he has to play. Either way, Phillip Tanner and him will be just about even in potential this week. I would stay away from this situation unless you really need a player.
39. ROBERT TURBIN VS. MIN
3rd down back. He has some minor potential, could be an interesting player. I am going to move him down in the rankings though.
40. RONNIE HILLMAN @ CIN
Looking to pick up whatever Willis McGahee cannot get. He has good potential, at the same time there are safer options. Playing against the Saints last week made things look easier.
41. RONNIE BROWN VS. KC
More involved than he should be. Ryan Mathews owners see those points just floating away.
42. JUSTIN FORSETT VS. BUF
Speed. Power. Agility.
Forsett is not really good at any of those things listed. He should get a good amount of carries against the Bills if the Texans can get a lead. No Tate this week.
43. ANDRE BROWN VS. PIT
Really just a goal line TD player. He has good power, just needs Bradshaw to go down to be worth playing.
44. MARK INGRAM VS. PHI
No Darren Sproles?!?! Owners can start to get excited. I am not one of them, but I would be if I can.
45. JAMES STARKS @ ARI
He’s BACK LADIES AND GENTLEMAN. He is getting a rankings boost that you will Saturday night.
46. DAVID WILSON VS. PIT
Not enough carries, unless Bradshaw misses the game.
47. KEVIN SMITH @ JAX
Slowly making his way back into the rotation. It was a 4 week plan.
48. LEGARRETTE BLOUNT @ OAK
With less offensive lineman, Blount is nothing to brag about.
49. MICHAEL BUSH @ TEN
Keeps hitting rock bottom every week since Forte has returned. 3 Carries last week, read about him in Busts.
50. MONTARIO HARDESTY VS. BAL
With T-Rich healthy again. Hardesty is not a player to trust on a consistent basis. Especially against Baltimore.
51. BERNARD PIERCE @ CLE
He can burst out for one long run in this one. But that is it.
52. SHAUN DRAUGHN @ SD
Stole the garbage TD. His role is very unpredictable with Hillis back.
53. CEDRIC PEERMAN VS. DEN
Could be busy in this one, but then again he is not a player to trust as the Bengals are much better when Green-Ellis is taking carries. Not throwing to Peerman in garbage time.
54. MIKE GOODSON VS. TB
It’s Darren McFadden’s team.
55. TOBY GERHART @ SEA
Never count on much.
56. WILLIAM POWELL VS. GB
Powell is not a bad RB. Larod is a few bad plays away from giving Powell his time share.
57. JACKIE BATTLE VS. KC
The LeGarrette Blount of the AFC.
58. JAMIE HARPER VS. CHI
Goal line or nothing. I guess nothing.
59. RASHARD MENDENHALL @ NYG
Becoming close to droppable. Watch and see how Redman does this week, and what the final word on Dwyer is. Right now this is turning into the committee everyone thought it was going to be before week 1. Since Dwyer and Redman were terrible to start the year, Mendy had his chance to steal the job completely. That is not the case anymore.
WR
1. VICTOR CRUZ VS. PIT
With Hakeem Nicks back, Cruz sees less defensive attention. He is the most lethal WR in Fantasy Football, he can easily take one to the house if they don’t double him.
2. BRANDON MARSHALL @ TEN
The Titans and their soft defense will not be able to contain B-Marsh who is one of the hottest WRs in the game. A TD should be in the books.
3. REGGIE WAYNE VS. MIA
Dolphins are not stopping the pass well at all this season. Reggie is getting past any corner that comes his way, no reason he will not get past whoever Miami puts his direction. Mark Sanchez was able to throw for over 280 Yards last week, so will Luck, which means a good game for Wayne.
4. CALVIN JOHNSON @ JAX
Megatron is still Megatron. Sooner or later, he will get a Megatron performance. No reason to bench him, he is playing Sunday.
5. STEVE SMTIH @ WAS
Redskins give up huge games through the air. Steve Smith will get his targets, Cam Newton should continue his hot passing in the matchup.
6. ANDRE JOHNSON VS. BUF
Andre is going to return to form sooner than later. The Bills have been giving up big games to #1 WRs consistently, Andre is overdue for a beautiful Sunday.
7. JULIO JONES VS. DAL
Jones may be unstoppable right now, but there does come risk with Jones because Ryan sometimes favors White/Gonzalez. Regardless, roll with Jones with confidence.
8. MARQUES COLSTON VS. PHI
Nandi is not the same corner he was last season. Which means Colston can easily get past him and put up those numbers from a few weeks ago. Home at Monday Night, Brees will be ready.
9. VINCENT JACKSON @ OAK
Huge matchup potential, Josh Freeman is hot and Vincent Jackson has definitely torched the Raiders secondary before.
10. JEREMY MACLIN @ NO
J-Mac is a consistent 10 Targets a game. Vick trusts him and the preseason breakout candidate predictions around Eagles camp still appears to be true.
11. MIKE WALLACE @ NYG
Wallace will start getting deep again, may not happen this week. Regardless expect the Steelers to pass often as Isaac Redman at RB does not leave the Steelers with a confident RB.
12. DEMARIYUS THOMAS @ CIN
D-Thom is probably one of the best WRs in the game and also has one of the best QBs throwing him the ball. Not a bad start at all, but if there was a let down week. This could be it as the Bengals defense is not terrible at all.
13. HAKEEM NICKS VS. PIT
Regaining form, Hakeem wet dream could have a big game if the weather is not too bad. Steelers defense does get thin in the secondary with Polamalu out.
14. AJ GREEN VS. DEN
Read about him in busts. He matches up against THE CHAMP.
15. STEVIE JOHNSON @ HOU
Jonathan Joesph is not the same corner he was last season. Expect Stevie to get his targets, which could mean 70 yards and a TD.
16. RODDY WHITE VS. DAL
Roddy or Julio, or maybe even Tony. Ryan has to be a superstar every week for all of them to do well. Cowboys Defense is playing well.
17. JORDY NELSON @ ARI
Downgrade coming for Jordy in the final rankings. Not looking like a full 100% if you ask me, even if he plays.
18. RANDALL COBB @ ARI
Cobb would get an upgrade if Jordy is out. If Cobb gets matchup against Peterson, he can easily beat him with his speed.
19. JAMES JONES @ ARI
Jones owners are hoping Jordy sits out another game. This is a prime matchup for James to return to the end zone where he is now, semi-over due from his current pace.
20. DESEAN JACKSON @ NO
Great matchup, he is overdue for something. I still seem him having a good season, this is a good week to get back on track.
21. DEZ BRYANT @ ATL
Dez will play Sunday Night. When he does, you will be excited to see all the pass attempts. Dez had a huge game last week with the injury, no reason to be concerned.
22. MIKE WILLIAMS @ OAK
TDS a Make them dance. Great matchup, 80 yards and a TD is very possible.
23. PERCY HARVIN @ SEA
Seahawks Defense is one of the best in the NFL. Which means Percy is going to get a lot of defensive attention. Lets Jenkins and Rudolph beat them.
24. ERICK DECKER @ CIN
Might not be a week for Decker owners to dream of. The Bengals defense has some talent in that secondary. Still a huge threat in the red zone, which will likely need to be the thing to save his day.
25. LARRY FITZGERALD VS. GB
#1 WRs against GB usually have big games. Fitzgerald is too low on these rankings and you can definitely expect a boost.
26. BRIAN HARTLINE @ IND
Downgrade is coming with the injury. He was going to see a lot of targets. Still may, regardless there are safer options.
27. DENARIUS MOORE VS. TB
Moore is playing at a great level right now. He can easily have a good week, read about him in the Busts.
28. ANTONIO BROWN @ NYG
Heath Miller needs to be less of a factor for Brown to be more consistent.
29. MILES AUSTIN @ ATL
With no running game, expect the Cowboys to throw often. Miles will get a rankings boost as he sees his targets.
30. LANCE MOORE VS. PHI
With Graham healthy, Moore is the #3 option in the passing game. While this is one of the best passing attacks in the NFL. He does have some making up to do.
31. TORREY SMITH @ CLE
If Boldin does enough damage, Torrey Smith will get some good matchups. For now expect him to see a lot of Joe Haden.
32. ANQUAN BOLDIN @ CLE
Boldin could Sheldon Brown more often than not this week. Which means 80 Yards is very possible.
33. DWAYNE BOWE @ SD
Better player when Cassel is the QB.
34. SIDNEY RICE VS. MIN
Rice is back to his form in Minnesota. The Seahawks will throw to him no matter who is guarding him.
35. MALCOLM FLOYD VS. KC
Floyd saved his day with the TD.
36. TITUS YOUNG @ JAX
Young was the best WR last week. Last week Megatron also was not much of a factor. That may not be the case this week leaving Titus Young owners with the expectations of 80 Yards.
37. ANDRE ROBERTS VS. GB
Skelton could get his big numbers this week, which means Roberts could slide in there with 70 Yards and a TD. If you need a sleeper, look no further.
38. DARRIUS HEYWARD-BEY VS. TB
DHB has a nice matchup to continue the TD streak. Carson Palmer is inconsistent, but if he has his stroke going. Watch the scoreboard light up.
39. CECIL SHORTS VS. DET
Shorts is the clear #1 Target on this team. This is not a bad matchup at all. The real question is, are you really ready to trust a Jaguars WR? 70 Yards would be solid.
40. NATE WASHINGTON VS. CHI
Nate has been the leading WR for the Titans two weeks in a row. Not a good matchup, but at least he is a threat for 80 Yards.
41. DAVONE BESS @ IND
Bess will get open and find his ways to get open. Hartline is now not 100%, which means Bess can lead this team in targets again. Expect a ranking change.
42. JUSTIN BLACKMON VS. DET
Blackmon is improving steadily, this is a good matchup. But he is not ready to be trusted in all leagues. Only the deepest of the deep.
43. SANTANA MOSS @ CAR
The #1 WR is a great threat in the red zone. This is the best he has been in a while, fantasy owners who are desperate can take advantage of it.
44. GOLDEN TATE VS. MIN
Tate is the clear #2 WR in Seattle, this could be a week where the Seahawks continue to check out how good his arm is.
45. DEVERY HENDERSON VS. PHI
HR or nothing, not a bad matchup to hit the HR.
46. KENNY BRITT VS. CHI
The knee is an issue. The matchup is an issue. I would bench him.
47. DONNIE AVERY VS. MIA
The target machine may see a delay now that the TEs have obviously need to get more action. Avery has not done much with his targets as he sees more than some of the guys in the top 20.
48. LEONARD HANKERSON @ CAR
At this point I would rather play Santana Moss than Hankerson. You cannot trust more than one Redskins WR.
49. HARRY DOUGLASS VS. DAL
Harry can have a big week if the Falcons decide to throw him the ball. Since he is the #4 option in the passing game, he cannot be trusted.
50. DONALD JONES @ HOU
Streaky TD maker with not a great matchup. Nothing to write home about, I would bench him in all leagues.
51. EARL BENNETT @ TEN
Bennett is the #2 Target for the Bears. Cutler should get his numbers this week, but whose not to say that Brandon Marshall will not get all of it.
52. MICHAEL JENKINS @ SEA
Big week last week, not a good matchup at all this week. I would bench him.
53. KENDALL WRIGHT VS. CHI
Too many WRs on that team to trust. If Britt has to rest his knee this season, Wright will be dependable. He does see his 6 Targets.
54. KEVIN WALTER VS. BUF
Quietly being a factor as Andre Johnson sees extra attention.
55. DOMINEK HIXON VS. PIT
With Nicks back, Hixon is just a wing and a prayer type of player.
56. ROBERT MEACHEM VS. KC
Danario Alexander is his new replacement.
57. RYAN BROYLES VS. JAX
Mike Thomas could teach Broyles a thing or two on what to do Sunday to get open.
58. T.Y. HILTON VS. MIA
3rd WR, maybe 4th option on the team. Hard to trust, despite the good matchup.
59. DEVIN HESTER @ TEN
Turning into the 3rd WR, you have to just hope for the big play.
60. ANDRE HAWKINS VS. DEN
Could be busy if AJ Green has trouble with Champ, however Gresham/Binns see their targets. Dalton will force it to AJ anyways.
61. BRANDON STOKLEY @ CIN
Hopefully he catches a slant in the red zone.
62. JONATHAN BALDWIN @ SD
TE
1. JIMMY GRAHAM VS. PHI
Graham proved to owners last week that he is back to being a vintage monster. That means you have to treat him as a vintage monster.
2. OWEN DANIELS VS. BUF
Daniels has really been stepping it up as defenses focus on stopping Andre Johnson. If Schaub can throw for over 250 Yards, then Daniels can easily get 80 Yards himself.
3. ANTONIO GATES VS. KC
Good call here.
4. JASON WITTEN @ ATL
The Cowboys should be going pass heavy, which means Witten can possibly work off of his historic day. No reason not to start him.
5. BRANDON PETTIGREW @ JAX
After getting 7 receptions last week, Pettigrew is back on the fantasy radar. As long as Stafford is hot, Pettigrew is a great option.
6. GREG OLSEN @ WAS
With no Brandon LaFell this week, Olsen has HUGE potential. The problem with Greg is you never knew if it was going to be him or LaFell getting the numbers. This week you do not have to worry.
7. BRENT CELEK @ NO
If there was a week for Celek to snap out of this funk. This is a prime matchup. Saints are the Saints, only problem is there may not be enough targets to go around. Should be though.
8. TONY GONZALEZ VS. DAL
Tony G is one of those over achieving TEs this season. While he is great, and can easily be the best TE this week. There is also a risk that he does not perform to that level since Jones/White demand so many targets. 70 Yards should be safe, the TD you do not know.
9. JERMICHAEL FINLEY @ ARI
No Jordy Nelson means Finley has a higher chance of finding the end zone. He has been the bust of all busts so far this season, maybe he will snap out of it this week. Arizona is good against TEs however.
10. HEATH MILLER @ NYG
Big Ben trusts him you can read about him in the Busts.
11. MARTELLUS BENNETT VS. PIT
Weather conditions could make this a tough game. Bennett could however benefit if the game plan is to dink and dunk. Tellus is overdue for one of those games to get back in the good grace of his owners.
12. DALLAS CLARK @ OAK
Clark is moving up the fantasy game quickly. He looks to have found his gel with Freeman, he could be blocking more because of their offensive line depth. Regardless he will be open.
13. MARCEDES LEWIS VS. DET
Great sleeper matchup for the TD. Red Zone defense will make it tough for Jennings to get the short goal line runs, which means Lewis could be camping at the back of the end zone.
14. JERMAINE GRESHAM VS. DEN
Gresham could be busy this week if AJ Green has trouble against Champ Bailey. Regardless, never easy to trust a TE as inconsistent as Jermiane.
15. ANTHONY FASANO @ IND
Fasano is one of the best options that Tannehill trusts. Not a bad matchup to end up with that sleeper TE.
16. KYLE RUDOLPH @ SEA
Rudolph and Christian Ponder is not a combo made in heaven. Ponder is afraid to make the tough throws to him, and their will be tough throws against this defense.
17. DENNIS PITTA @ CLE
Pitta has been seeing inconsistent targets. Nothing new for any TE. Not a bad matchup, not the best one either.
18. BRANDON MYERS VS. TB
Myers is the safety valve for Palmer this season. Expect him to get his 6 Targets, just a matter of hoping for 50 Yards at this point.
19. COBY FLEENER VS. MIA
Luck needs to throw to Fleener more for him to be the top 15 option his owners want him to be. Not a terrible matchup, but not a matchup I would be thrilled about.
20. TONY SCHEFFLER @ JAX
Quietly getting a lot of targets. Scheff is a nice sleeper this week if you are looking for one.
21. JACOB TAMME @ CIN
If Dresseen did not exist. Tamme would be a top 10 option likely every week. He is still dependable.
22. SCOTT CHANDLER @ HOU
Chandler is falling out of the rotation quickly for the Bills. He was once the #2 option in the passing game, but now Donald Jones is starting to get more targets. On top of that, the Bills are committed to running.
23. JARED COOK VS. CHI
Bad matchup, and he wants out of Tennessee. Get out of town, and off my fantasy roster. Never had him, would not start now especially with Locker looming soon.
24. JOEL DRESSEEN @ CIN
Jacob Tamme owners wish this guy never existed You can see how much of an impact he has on the TEs he play with. Last season Owen Daniels was nothing compared to this.
25. ZACH MILLER VS. MIN
Could get a sleeper TD. I expect 20 Yards.
26. LOGAN PAULSEN VS. CAR
RGIII and his passing attack is nothing special. Which makes a TE you never heard of to start the season anything special. Soon Chris Cooley will be the guy.
27. DEWAYNE ALLEN VS. MIA
Luck is too unpredictable with his distribution to his TEs. Which means you can’t start any of them.
28. KELLEN DAVIS @ TEN
1 Catch or nothing. This is far less of an attractive option that Bubba Franks.
29. TONY MOEAKI @ SD
Some people may not know he even exists.
will there be wr and te analysis
Why so low on G.Hartley?
Saints score TDs. Very flawless offense once they get in the redzone.
U get a poole full of liquor and u dive in
Of course.
As a Mathews owner I would love to say I hate Ronnie Brown. That is not the case. Its Norv Turner I hate, with all my heart. Hard to tell who is e en tbe handcuff there. I dream of Turner getting fired. AJ Smith needs to go too. Then I can rest.
Chuuuuuurch.Preach.
What type of boost can we expect to PT’s value this week with Sproles out? Does he now have similar value to J-Stew? More?
Very interesting stuff.
I asked this in the who to start article and got a split decision so I figured I’d ask the guru directly…
I have nicks, Green, and Moore as well as DMC, All day, jstew, and d Thomas. 2 starting rb are clear, but your rankings say nicks and Green should start. So Jstew or Moore at the flex?
Also, I’m looking to pick up Kevin Smith after this weekend. In addition to the players above I have Dwyer, martellus and d. Keller. Any advice on who to drop. I’m gonna try trading Dwyer but I don’t see anyone in my league interested (I tried before he was out for Sunday and no one was interested). I’m going to have Freeman to trade with also if that helps…
Here’s a testimonial: this kicks ass!
Will be interested to see who you recommend–Ingram or Starks–in your next ratings.
Need to pick one of them up due to Byes for Ridley and SJax, and Mikel Le “not so” Shoure my only other RB on the roster.
With hartlines questionable tag I am leaning towards lance Moore….who should I start?
Eagles has one of the best redzone defenses. But I can see your point now that Graham is healthy. But one of their top redzone weapons Sproles is out.
Surprised by Freeman’s #3 QB rank in your update. What caused the bump?
Also, surprised everyone has DEN DST so low. I think some of the things Dalton forces will be limited by CHAMP and the rest of the Denver coverage, and they’ve looked hungry and focused from what I’ve seen.
Those are his “fake” rankings. His real rankings are the written ones.
The real rankings were the ones in the ECR. If Doug Martin did not steal all of his TDs, he would have justified this spot. Still may have anyways.
