FANTASY FOOTBALL WAIVER WIRE BEAST OR BUST (WEEK 1)

TEMU CMC

By Muntradamus

BEAST DOME NATION.

My favorite part about the Preseason is being able to watch Rookies. After watching Montee Ball in College, then following his journey into the NFL. I never watched a College Football game again. In a world where I am on a mission to be the #1 Fantasy Football Expert in the World, watching College Football is a waste of time. No college defense is even close to an NFL defense, these NFL quality College Football Players are playing against guys who would be lucky to be an equipment manager for an NFL team after their college career is over. Just ask Brad Evans and all the other Sheep who ranked Johnny Manziel a QB1 his Rookie Season, or look at all the Sheep who compared Clyde Edwards Helaire to Barry Sanders (All of them besides BEAST DOME). So with that being said, Preseason is their debut for me besides watching them dominate in college highlight tapes. which I just use to see what they look like.

In the 6th Round, the Raiders selected RB Dylan Laube. The chance a 6th Round RB is relevant in Fantasy Football ever is slim. The fact he is white also does not help, not because of a race factor, more of a can you name another white RB currently in the NFL besides Christian McCaffery? Not a FB, a RB.

Drafting this Spring/Summer I saw Laube get drafted in nearly every draft I completed. The train slowed down to a halt as he was definitely going later and later in the summer drafts, but some Fantasy Sites are not giving up on the 6th Round Rookie. Well, let me be the voice that guides you if you are that deep in the rabbit hole where you think Dylan Laube will be Fantasy Relevant in 2024.

First of all, Dylan is not that special. He is not fast, he is not strong. He reminds me of CMC, if you took away all of CMC’s talent and were left with the shell of CMC. The white RB, with the #23, and a similar build. He almost looks like a clone of him when you watch him on TV, as long as he does not have the ball. There is zero chance he finds any playing time over Zamir White/Alexander Mattison. Mattison is better at everything than what Laube brings to the table. Better blocker. Better hands. Better running back out of the backfield.

It would take both players getting injured for Laube to even be a thought in Fantasy Football this season. The good news is if you already own him, at least you have an easy decision on what player to drop.
