Fantasy Football: TE Draft Guide Strategy 2012

BEAST DOME NATION.
Each day of the week leading up to next Monday I will cover each position of Fantasy Football. To read the entire BEAST DOME FANTASY FOOTBALL DRAFT GUIDE 2012, follow the link.
There Are Plenty of TE’s This Season.
Yes chances are you want to go out of your way and reach for an Antonio Gates, Rob Gronkowski, or even Aaron Hernandez. The truth is, Jimmy Graham stands at #1 by a long shot with the consistent targets he will be seeing, then Gates who is also the primary option. If you miss out on those two, you can wait and try to get the next Rob Gronkowski well after the 10th round. But here’s the sad truth, if you do not have a top 10 Fantasy TE by the end of the season, it will take a miracle for you to win.
If You Draft (Graham/Gates/Gronk/Hernandez):
- You essentially have another ELITE skill player at the TE spot. A should be guaranteed 10+ Points a week at a position that historically would give you an average of 6.
- You have the edge at the position heading into every matchup.
- You need to target Willis McGahee in the 4th round.
- You need to target Cedric Benson and JacQuizz Rodgers as backup RBs.
- If any of these TE’s slip past the 5th round, I would grab them.
- Take your 2nd TE in Tier 3.
Disadvantages of having (Graham/Gates/Gronk/Hernandez):
- You give up your 2nd or 3rd round pick to get one of them.
- You give up on a top 15 RB, or a top 15 WR in the process, or a top 5 QB.
- You most likely miss out on drafting the next BIG Thing at TE, more on that after the TIER Rankings.
IF YOU MISS OUT ON THE BIG 4:
- Take two TEs from Tier 3, and play musical TE until you find your next Rob Gronkowski. Or if the guys from Tier 2 really slip late, grab them.
- Target Pettigrew, he will slip.

BUSTS:
VERNON DAVIS – SF – TE
MUNTRADAMUS RB RANK: #10
AVERAGE EXPERTS RANK: #6
The 49ers have too many weapons to consider Vern a safe option from week-to-week. A top 10 finish is possible, but there will be too many clunkers to draft him around the top 5 like he once was. Between Frank Gore and the new committee of RB’s, and the additions of Mario Mannigham and Randy Moss at the WR position. There will not be enough balls to go around. The 49ers will also blow teams out of the water which means little passing in the 2nd half a lot of week.
TONY GONZALEZ – ATL – TE
MUNTRADAMUS RB RANK: #14
AVERAGE EXPERTS RANK: #9
Gonzalez started last season out hot with 4 TDs in the first 4 games. He closed out the season with 0 TDs from Week 12-Week 17 with only three good games during that span, Week 12/13/14. Gonzalez is only getting older, so somebody should of told you, to let someone else draft him.
NEXT ROB GRONKOWSKI & JIMMY GRAHAM:
Coming Tuesday..
