HOW MUCH FOR THE HOOKER?

Watching preseason Football for me is like watching minor league NFL. Ya of course it is important to see how the starters look when they are out there, but after the one or two series we see in Week 1 of Preseason, it is time for the backups to shine. If you have been part of BEAST DOME for more than a year, you know I am on top of the preseason more than any Expert. Here is a throwback video to prove that.

If there is one player who stood out to me in Week 1, it was Hendon Hooker. Do not forget Hooker was supposed to be a Hesiman candidate before the ACL injury in college. He slipped in the NFL Draft, and the Lions selected him last year in the 3rd Round.

Last week we saw his debut, and you can tell he is going to be something special. He reminds me of CJ Stroud right out of the gate, with the willingness to run. That is something you like to see short-term out of your QB, not long-term, however in Hooker’s case at 26 Years old, these next three years are maybe all he has to show the NFL who he is.

I looked up Hooker Rookie Cards because I did think it was a real investment opportunity, only to find.

There is already a market for him that is going for a real rate. These remind me of the prices of Jordan Love when he was a backup, and while maybe there is a potential that Hooker reaches those levels, the price point indicates you have to pay that price now. I do not believe I have seen enough to buy Hooker for that price, was hoping he would be much less expensive for a third string QB. The writing on the wall is he is already second string. I will let others pay the piper. Does not help he suffered a concussion in his first game.
