FANTASY FOOTBALL CLYDE & GO BUST THE LAST VOLUME

It only seems like yesterday everyone was talking about how Clyde Edwards-Helaire aka CHE as a player who is going to win you your Fantasy Football league. “Experts” were touting him as a 1st/2nd Round pick for the last two years. The result of his first two seasons?

2020: 803 RUSH YARDS/297 REC YARDS 5 TD

2021: 517 RUSH YARDS/129 REC YARDS 6 TD

While he was injured both seasons. Both times I wrote about CHE as a Rookie, I wrote as a huge concern his small size which could lead to injury.

Now we head into 2022. CHE is still being touted as a Top Fantasy RB. His draft stock has dropped this summer from the 2nd Round to now somewhere in 3rd/4th Round, maybe as late as 5th, but not likely. Regardless, Sheep are drafting him to be a starter on their Fantasy Football team. Which once again, is a mistake.

The Chiefs obviously do not believe in CHE. They not only drafted the second coming of Tyreek Hill (only because he is #10) in Isiah Pacheco, but they also got Ronald Jones from Tampa. Not only those two factors, and yes Pacheco is now a factor after looking very explosive this preseason, but Jerick McKinnon may be better than CHE. Let us not forget that McKinnon was once upon a time a top Fantasy Football Draft Pick. I called his bust season before it happened.

McKinnon led the way for the Chiefs this past post season, and there is no reason to believe that he is not capable of leading the Chiefs again even with CHE healthy.

The hard cold truth is, CHE never looked amazing as a Chief. His speed was great, but he was not out running defenses like Tyreek Hill. He could catch the ball, but not like a Marshall Faulk or even a Duce Staley for that matter. He was never automatic on the goal line, and he basically only took what the defense gave him going down on every squared up tackle.

If CHE cannot stay healthy in 2022, this could be his last season the sheep will take him as a starter in Fantasy. Maybe the last season he is ever drafted as a starting RB in the NFL.
