FANTASY FOOTBALL 2024 BUST OF THE YEAR NFC

AUSTIN EKELER

BEAST DOME NATION.

Austin Ekeler was a Fantasy Football fan favorite the past handful of seasons. Not only did we love the big stats in the rushing and receiving game, we loved the fact that he cared about Fantasy Football and wanted to do well for his Fantasy owners. Los Angeles was a good fit for him, an offense that was respectable in the passing game which allowed defenses to really not load the box or put as many defenders as they should on Ekeler.

As the new regime that coach Harbaugh brings into LA, Ekeler is on his way out. At the age of 29 years old, which is the near the end of the line for a lot of RBs who are not very unique, Ekeler ends up in Washington.

Kliff Kingsbury is back from Thailand to be the OC for the Commanders. With a rookie QB and Brian Robinson also in the mix, it is hard to image Ekeler coming even close to the same production he was producing for the Chargers. For one, the Commanders are going to score far less points than the Chargers did in previous seasons. Most important of all, Brian Robinson is probably the better RB between the two. Ekeler may have better hands and is definitely the better 3rd down RB, but as far as running up the middle or taking a large amount of carries, Brian Robinson would probably do better if everything was split evenly.

Austin Ekeler is never guaranteed a RB2 performance any game this season as long as Brian Robinson is healthy. Far different role and production than the #1 RB in Fantasy Football 2021 and 2022 Ekeler owners will be used to. Let someone else take Ekeler in their Fantasy Football Draft, unless Jayden Daniels is the real deal, Ekeler will be facing stacked boxes and an RBBC situation that will not always be in his favor.
