Josh Downs has been getting some nice numbers as of late. He is averaging 10 targets a game consistently over his last three games, with 217 Yards and 2 TDs. Not bad, that is a decent WR2 if you ask me. The Colts passing game is on fire as Joe Flacco is turning back the wheels of time once again.

Fast forward to the present, Anthony Richardson is the QB. Downs with Richardson is not the same combo as you think it is. Downs is just a good slot player, but Richardson will not throw that route if the defense takes it away. Defenses would love to challenge Richardson to throw deep, and he always takes the bait.

The Colts offense for the last three games has not had Jonathan Taylor. Okay, he missed the 4th Quarter of the 1st game, but it definitely opened up the passing game late for Flacco against the Steelers. Truth is, Joe Flacco is a good passing QB, Anthony Richardson is more or less Cam Newton 2.0.

Bottom line. As soon as Anthony Richardson steps back in at QB, as soon as Jonathan Taylor returns. Josh Downs will remind you why he was on the Waiver Wire to begin with.
