Fantasy Basketball Trade Market: Dozen DeRozan’s for Valentines (Week 16)
Fantasy Basketball Trade Market:
Dozen DeRozan’s for Valentines (Week 16)
By Muntradamus
BEAST DOME NATION.
This will be the last trade Market of the Season as most trade deadlines will be occurring in most leagues in a week or two. These are the last of the BEST of the BEST (Buy/Sell) moves to make. You really do not want to miss out on this small window of your Fantasy Basketball season.
The content will start to pickup after the Fantasy Basketball All-Star Weekend. I have been doing a lot of research getting everything ready for Fantasy Baseball and March Madness. The Goal is to still WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP.
I will be on the LIVE CHAT tonight if anyone has questions. If you do not see me online at the time, you will see your response in the morning, same goes for Monday.
BUY
NICOLAS BATUM – SF – POR
Nicolas Batum is a superstar in the Fantasy Basketball world. He would be ranked in the BEAST category if he put together some consistent monster performances, but that has not been the case too often. The Blazers are incredibly thin, and Batum is averaging 10.8 Points a game in February. The All-Star Break could not be coming at a better time for Batum who is a player that makes the triple-double seem like a possibility every night.
Owners are disgruntled, offer a lot and steal a BEAST. One injury to a Portland Stater, and they inherit 20% more value. Same goes with all Blazer starters.
OFFER
Paul Pierce
Paul George
DEMARCUS COUSINS – C – SAC
DeMarcus has shown us a few times this season that he can be the #1 Center in Fantasy Basketball. With zero competition. You may think I am being sarcastic, but he was putting up 20/10 by the start of the 4th quarter. There were even games DeMarcus ended up with a 30 Point/20 Rebound game in January. Right now, he is playing awful.
12.57 Points/7.15 Rebounds in last 7 games.
If there was a 5 finger discount in Fantasy Basketball. This is one.
OFFER
any player that qualifies at Center but Lamarcus Aldridge/Al Jefferson/Brook Lopez
ANTHONY DAVIS – PF – NOH
Why should you buy a player like Anthony Davis who is seeing less than 20 Minutes a game some nights? Because if he played 40 he would be on the verge of the BEAST category every single night. Right now Robin Lopez and Ryan Anderson are standing in his way of seeing quality minutes. But once reality hits that the Hornets are not a playoff team no matter how hard they try, (even the Lakers and Mavericks are outside of the playoff picture). Then the Hornets will roll out the Red Carpet for Anthony Davis to showcase his skills.
When playing 40 Minutes. 20 Points/10 Rebounds should be the norm, the blocks/steals will make him very special.
OFFER
Amir Johnson
Amar’e Stoudemire
DERON WILLIAMS – PG – BRK
17 Points and 7 Assists does not sound like Deron Williams numbers to me. But that is the reality of Deron this season with the Nets playing way below how good this offense should be.
It always takes time to adjust to a new team, and adding Joe Johnson was a big transaction that has still not found his exact rhythm yet. Once he does, and Deron knows what he’s supposed to do every night. Those 17/7 nights will be 20/10 more often than not.
Inconsistency was a big problem for D-Will early this season. Those issues will be the main reason to buy low.

Damian Lillard
Jameer Nelson
Kemba Walker
SELL
PAUL GEORGE – DAVID WEST – ROY HIBBERT – IND
All three of these players are putting up very strong performances. Strong enough that George is on the VERGE of BEAST, and David West is an ELITE play every night. Roy Hibbert is keeping a good spot in Good with the upgrade of ELITE possible.
While that is the case now, this will not be the case next month at this time. Danny Granger is going to have value in all leagues, which will put a dent in all of these players production on a consistent basis. George Hill will keep similar value as his assist potential could go up, and his scoring cannot get much worst than it is right now. Lance Stephenson will be Waiver Wire material.
TARGET
(George) Nicolas Batum/Paul Pierce/Rudy Gay
(West) Zach Randolph/Serge Ibaka
(Hibbert) Omer Asik/Marcin Gortat
DEMAR DEROZAN – SG – TOR
DeRozan is losing value quicker than any Fantasy Basketball SG in the NBA. With the addition of Rudy Gay, the Raptors no longer look at DeMar as the go-to-guy. With Bargnani slowly gaining his way to 100%, DeRozan is seeing his last days of consistent 15 Point outputs. Even those are starting to fall. DeRozan has talent, but the pecking order does not favor him to shoot the ball more than 12 times a night consistently. You can get a lot of value for DeRozan if you play it right.
TARGET
J.R. SMITH
WESLEY MATTHEWS
J.J. REDICK
ARRON AFFLALO
JOE JOHNSON
TONY PARKER – PG – SAS
Parker is having the time of his fantasy life with no Tim Duncan. The reality is, when Duncan returns. The Spurs are going to be an inconsistent fantasy mess with Duncan likely the best player every night. Tony Parker will still put up his big games, but those consistent 20 Point/11 Assists, will have a lot of 16 Points/7 Assists. These 31 Point games are unreal.
Right now the Fantasy Basketball world is treasuring Tony like a True MVP at the position. Which means it is time to upgrade a player who secretly hurts you in 3PTM category. His FT% is also due to decline from 82%. Not the most reliable, but much better than Rondo.
TARGET
Russell Westbrook
Kyrie Irving
Chris Paul
Dwayne Wade
Stephen Curry
Deron Williams
LARRY SANDERS – C – MIL
Mr. Samuel Dalembert has really ruined Sanders value. To the point where it is close to no return as Samuel is a much more dominant/experienced Larry Sanders.
The Bucks still have Faith in Larry, which is keeping his fantasy value alive. But the truth is those huge block numbers and consistent rebound numbers, will not be so consistent anymore. Larry is going to lose a lot of value quickly, now is the time to get as much as you can as he falls into the 10-20 Minutes/game consistently.
TARGET
Emeka Okafor
Nene Hilario
Roy Hibbert
J.J. Hickson
THADDEUS YOUNG – PF – PHI
The world’s greatest bowler Andrew Bynum is making his way back into the NBA. Which only means Thaddeus Young will be getting less rebounds, and less touches. Thaddeus Young did lose some value with his latest hamstring injury, but should be back in 6 games from today. If your trade deadline is coming up in your league, I would move him now. If you can afford to wait for a game or two before trading Thad, I would do that.
The 76ers are starting to get very deep with Spencer Hawes and Lavoy Allen picking it up. Dorrell Wright can also play the PF spot at the right times. Thaddeus had amazing value before the injury, it will not drop too much once he returns.
TARGET
Serge Ibaka
Paul Millsap

What’s Dalembert’s value going forward? Worth a pickup as a Drummond replacement, perhaps?
You can make that move short-term.
Sanders will get a shot to reclaim his job, but for now you can expect Dalembert to be a GREAT #2 Center in Fantasy Basketball.
what should owners of drummond do?
I have Hibbert and Sanders. Which one should I be trying hardest to move?
For thaddeus young what players do you mean by earl clark+a good player? If offered clark and either jeff green or favors should i take it?
Thanks
Hibbert will have the best long-term value of the two. Larry Sanders is a player to move now before his role is diminished completely.
If you are stuck with Hibbert, at least you will have some consistency you can depend on. Sanders may be waiver wire material.
Favors and Green are on the cusp of Risky/Good. You can use my Rankings to determine a good player based on the category they are in.
Rankings for Wednesday’s action will be released for your viewing.
If you can wait until Thaddeus Young is back, I would. He should produce consistently, but Earl Clark’s value is rising by the day for good reason.
A combination of Andrei Kirlenko/Earl Clark would be a steal for Thaddeus Young. Somebody a little less than AK47. Nene or Emeka caliber.
If you have a playoff spot locked up.
Continue to hold Drummond who should still be a BEAST come Fantasy Playoff time.
If you are on the cusp, and it’s a daily league, and every game counts. Then Add another player.
Thanks munt. Going forward who will have more value clark or ak47? Thanks
Earl Clark is going to be the man for the Lakers R.O.S.
This new foot injury could be a concern, but then again the ASB is coming at the perfect time for him.
If Clark is playing. 15/10 with intangibles should be there every night.
Gotcha. I offered Sanders and Turner for Gortat and Beal. I like Beal’s upside for R.O.S., and I could use the help in triples.
i traded george and monroe for gay and cousins . thoughts?
I like the trade.
Although Monroe will be a BEAST all season with Drummond out.
Cousins will go through his sprees of being the #1 Center.
Gay on the other hand is the man in Toronto, and his value will exceed George who will have to deal with the return of Granger.
That is not a bad trade, but the more time goes by, you can see that Sanders is losing even more value.
i had a difficult time dealing Monroe, especially since i had him before his breakout but had no other pieces to trade
I was offered Deron Williams and Bargnani for Sanders, Nelson and Turner. I’m trying to upgrade Bargnani to a safer option (Hickson, Iguodala, Nene). How do you see Bargnani’s value playing out R.O.S.?
better keep sanders, nelson and turner
