MANNY MACHADO – SS/3B – BAL
Projected ROS Stats: 7 HR. 288 Average. 23 RBI.
Machado did not put up any numbers worth bragging about in the minors with a batting average less than .300, but he is definitely showing that he is MLB ready with 3 HRs in his first 4 games. Already touted as a very high prospect in the Orioles organization, Macahdo is MUST-OWN in keeper leagues, and definitely worth owning if you just lost Will Middlebooks. If he has another big week, which is more than possible. He will not only be off of all waiver wires, but those owners that picked him will feel like a Machado Man.
JONNY GOMES – OF – OAK
Projected ROS Stats: 7 HR. .265 Average. 18 RBI.
Gomes is murdering left handed pitchers at a Ryan Ludwick/Paul Goldschmidt rate. Gomes will continue to get PT as the #2 hitter and is an ELITE play in daily leagues. Yep, ELITE is what he can offer you as he has HR’s in three consecutive days against left handed pitching.
JOHN JASO – C – SEA
Projected ROS Stats: 5 HR. .290 Average. 13 RBI.
Jaso is on a 5 game hitting streak and hit HRs on both Friday and Saturday. He is playing well enough to the point where many owners who need a catcher in deeper leagues she definitely consider him for this upcoming week. I personally still like Erik Kratz and Derek Norris more who I both recommended last week.
KRIS MEDLEN – SP/RP – ATL
Projected ROS Stats: 5 Wins. 6 K/start. 3.10 ERA. 1.20 WHIP.
Medlen is the real deal, and he can definitely be the savior for not only the Braves, but your fantasy baseball squad. In his first three starts he is 2-0 with 16 Ks in 16.1 INN, while allowing a WHIP of barely over 1.00, and an ERA of 1.66. Add him in all leagues as he will make a huge push for the Braves playoff spot. The former reliever is pitching like a vintage Jair Jurrjens. He may lose his job when Tommy Hanson returns from the DL, but until that officially happens throw him out their like an ACE.
