Muntradamus Review (2014)
By Muntradamus
BEAST DOME NATION.
This Basketball season was the first season I decided to not show my Rankings for the first time. Unless you were VIP of course, and that too was only open to a select few. Now that we are in late March with Baseball around the corner, my Daily Fantasy Basketball days are done. Which means it is time for me to share the results to you on how this season went.
PLAYOFF TIP TO WIN YOUR LEAGUE
NICK YOUNG – SG – LAL

2013-2014 NBA PRESEASON RANKINGS
PG
ANALYSIS
BEAST PICK
KYLE LOWRY – PG – TOR
Only one other Fantasy Site had Kyle Lowry ranked higher than I did. Lowry has gone onto be a Fantasy MVP type of player all year easily be one of the most verstaile consistent Injury Free BEASTS all season. You can expect an automatic 15 Points/9 Assists with a lot of 3PTM/Steals and Rebounds. Listening to me on Lowry would help you easily win your championship.
SLEEPER PICK
DARREN COLLISON – PG – LAC
Darren Collison was a nice pick at +10. This season he was saved with a Chris Paul injury which led to a lot of crucial minutes towards the middle of the season. Then shortly after that Jamal Crawford went down, which led to a starting gig for a while shortly after the All-Star Break. All in all, Darren Collison has helped a lot of Fantasy Teams, yet he was still not part of the Draft Strategy but he was on the watch list.
GOOD BUST PICK
TONY PARKER – PG – SAS
Parker this season has been a headache. He will sit out games like Duncan notoriously has for the past few seasons, his scoring is down nearly 3 Points, his assists are down 1.5 from a year ago. He is playing less minutes, and he will continue to sit out more games down the stretch of the Fantasy Playoffs.
Good thing I did not endorse Tony Parker this year.
SG
BEAST PICK
NICK YOUNG – SG/SF- LAL
Experts had Nick Young at #49. I had him at #11. I guarantee you Nick Young is making a huge difference in your League if you have used him since he has returned from his knee injury. In his last 3 Games, he is averaging nearly 22 Points a game, as well as 3+ 3PTM.
This season he is averaging 17.1 Points and he will be a CRUCIAL component to winning you your Fantasy Championship. Especially with Pau sitting out games now, do not be surprised to see Pau continue to miss a lot more time and Nick Young Ball out of his Mind.
SLEEPER PICK
KEVIN MARTIN – SG – MIN
You can argue that Nick Young is my Sleeper pick, but I will go with Kevin Martin. Martin has been somewhat inconsistent and was injured for a short stretch. For the most part, Kev Mart has been a rock averaging 19 Points per game. You know what you’re getting out of him, a 3PTM a Steal and 19 Points.
Last season he averaged 14 Points and some experts even had him ranked as the #52 SG. They were off.
BAD BUST PICKS
ERIC BLEDSOE – SG – PHX
I ranked Bledsoe toward the bottom of the SG position with a Few Experts. We were right because of the injury, but we were wrong as far as how good Bledsoe really is. If he is in a similar situation next season, and Phoenix does not may too many moves. Bledsoe will be a star.
TYREKE EVANS – SG/SF – NO
The injury to Jrue Holiday really opened up Tyreke’s season. Here is an example of a player who was barely making Fantasy Owners smile the entire 1st half of the season. Once Jrue went down, and nobody really stepped up at PG. Tyreke took it upon himself to be as good as his Rookie season in Sacramento. Now with Eric Gordon down, Tyreke is arguably the best Fantasy SG/SF in the game.
VICTOR OLADIPO – SG – ORL
When I’m wrong, I’m wrong. I was not a big fan of Oladipo and his way into that rotation for being a consistent Fantasy Player. His season started slow, but then injuries to Jameer Nelson and Tobias Harris led to an increased opportunity which he was not afriad of. Oladipo is a Fantasy Stud.
BUST PICK
OJ MAYO – SG – MIL
It all makes sense. OJ Mayo signing to a Bucks team that needs a go-to-scorer. Mayo could easily shoot 20+ Times a night with the Bucks.
What really happened. Coach Drew put OJ Mayo in the doghouse very early in the season. Mayo was racking up DNP’s and less than 20 Minute performances consistently. Mayo at times was able to show how good he was scoring 20+ Points whenever given 30+ Minutes. Still, Coach Drew just does not like him.
SF
ANALYSIS
The SF Position was a Tough one this year in Fantasy Basketball. All the Superstars are up front, all the Sleeper are down low. I did Rank Rudy Gay at #6, which was higher than any Expert. For the most part, outside of Vince Carter/Matt Barnes/Shawn Marion. SF is a position where you have the Best and you forget the Rest. Almost like the SS of Fantasy Baseball.
PF
BEAST PICK
BLAKE GRIFFIN – PF – LAC
The Fact that I have Blake so far ahead of the field, is very sad on their part. Blake Griffin has been a Top 3 PF all season long, arguably #1 by far at one point when Chris Paul was down. 24 points/9 Rebounds nearly 4 Assists with a Steal and a career high 70% from the FT Line. Did Experts really think Blake would be trending down?
OTHER BEAST PICKS
ANTHONY DAVIS – PF – NO
THADDEUS YOUNG – PF – PHI
JARED SULLINGER – PF – BOS
MARKIEFF MORRIS – PF – PHX
JJ HICKSON – PF – DEN
C
MARC GASOL ECR #1?
In what world is Marc Gasol the #1 Fantasy Basketball Center?
For a player that has never averaged more than 15 Points Per game. Nor has he averaged 9 Rebounds Per Game. Experts considered him #1. This is why it would of paid to be a NBA VIP.
This season Gasol is having his statisically worst season, and missed nearly half of it with a knee injury. He is not himself, and even if he was himself. He should never be considered the #1 Fantasy Center.
BEAST PICKS
DWIGHT HOWARD – C – HOU
DEMARCUS COUSINS – C – SAC
ANDRE DRUMMOND – C – DET
DEANDRE JORDAN – C – LAC

DEANDRE JORDAN – C – LAC
NBA LEADERS
#1 & #2 in FG %/REB. Both Top 10 in Blocks.
ANDRE DRUMMOND – C – DET
MUNTRADAMUS RANK: #10
EXPERT CONSENSUS RANK: #23
I was a big Fan of Drummond since his days at UCONN. He never looked right in a slow College Basketball System, but his Size and Athleticism is out of this world. So I ranked him with nice upside in 2012, his rookie season. After seeing what I saw, I knew he was the next Big Thing.
Andre Drummond will be a Top 5 Fantasy Basketball Center next season. His 13 Points/12 Rebounds/1.7 Blocks/1.2 Steals is the just the start of how good Drummond can be. He is still very young at 20 Years Old, and he is Built like a Machine From the Future. He is the definition of a BEAST, Detroit will be breaking up their big men this off-season, which means more stats for Drummond moving forward.
Drummond’s stats doubled from a year ago as a Rookie. Do not be surprised to see him average over 17 Rebounds a game next season to go along with 15 Points.
DEANDRE JORDAN – C – LAC
MUNTRADAMUS RANK: #19
EXPERT CONSENSUS RAK: #36
DeAndre Jordan who is now 25 Years Old, (Started at 20) has finally become a Fantasy Beast.
Throughout Jordan’s career, he has never averaged 9 Points Per Game in a season, and only 8.3 Rebounds once as a Career high in 2011-2012. This season, DeAndre is averaging 13.7 Rebounds with 10.1 Points and a career high 2.4 Blocks and a Steal.
DeAndre Jordan is only getting better, and his Fantasy Upside will grow as well.
