Fantasy Football: Defense/ST Draft Guide Strategy 2012
Fantasy Football: Defense/ST Draft Guide Strategy 2012
By Muntradamus
BEAST DOME NATION.
Each day of the week leading up to next Monday I will cover each position of Fantasy Football. To read the entire BEAST DOME FANTASY FOOTBALL DRAFT GUIDE 2012, follow the link.
The D/ST Position in Fantasy Football Can Be a Waiver Wire Team Every Week:
If you care more about having a solid team all-around then drafting one of the ELITE Defense/ST’s in the business. Not a big deal at all. Most of the times a solid defense will be dropped, but more likely than not you will find the best matchups on the Waiver Wire. I will be using the Waiver Wire this season as I will be giving you the Muntradamus Waiver Wire defense of the Week special.
I.E. What defense would you rather play in this one matchup. Pittsburgh, or Minnesota?
Pittsburgh @ New England
or
Jacksonville @ Minnesota
The answer is Minnesota.
Advantages to Having an Elite D/ST:
- You get a guaranteed 6 Points a week on tough games, and possibly 15+ Points if they have easy games.
- You do not have to worry about picking up a defense throughout the season that will let you down.
Disadvantages to Having an Elite D/ST:
- You do not get the chance to play matchups.
- You do not get the chance to use Muntradamus Waiver Wire defense of the Week special.
- You spent a high draft pick on SF D, when you could have picked a stud RB such as Jacquizz Rodgers.
Muntradamus D/ST Strategy:
- Waiting toward the end of my draft to take the Minnesota Vikings who plays the Jags in Minnesota for Week 1.
- Last round or two going to take the Raiders who play the Dolphins in Week 2.
- After that I will be playing Musical D/ST with the Muntradamus D/ST Sleeper of the Week.

Defense/ST Plus Matchups For PLAYOFFS:
*Always vital to play the best defenses during the playoffs. If you have a mediocre team that has a tough matchup when it counts the most. Time to throw the bait away. If you notice a lot of the superstar defenses such as Baltimore, Dallas, NYG, and the Jets do not even make this list because their matchups are so tough.

JV welcome to BEAST DOME.
I am not in love with this team, but I do not hate it either.
Eli will give you top 10 QB #s, but more on the backside of the top 10.
Your WRs are all solid, but they each come with a bit of question.
Miles Austin has to compete with Dez Bryant this season, Dez is looking great in camp.
Andre Johnson is injury prone, should still have a great year.
I actually like Stevie a lot.
Both of your RBs have question marks. MJD pulling a Chris Johnson on us could happen, where he runs for less than 1300 yards. AP is coming off of a bad ACL surgery, and chances are you took him too high in this draft unless it was round 3.
Daniels is a good insurance option to have next to Andre Johnson, he should be the clear cut #2 passing option.
Gould and GB are solid as well. You may want to grab Longwell who is a good kicker to have along side Adrian Peterson if he does not get his team in the end zone.
Your bench does not have any great options besides Beanie Wells. Cutler could be just as good as Eli, but will most likely be worst.
Focus on getting more stars on your team. Not guys that are inconsistent, or question marks at their position.
There is no player on that roster that will give you a consistent 20+ every week.

Not a big fan of Meachem this season. Besides him your starting lineup looks like a great contender.
Your bench has some good long-term depth.
You should be competing all season long with this squad, look to see if there are some better options than Thomas or Bess in Week 1 Rankings that are possibly better long-term players.
