The Steelers will look to come into New England and ruin the, ‘ring ceremony’ game to kick off the 2015 season. The Patriots have a lot of problems this season when it comes to their defense as they did nothing to replace Vincent Wilfork, as well as not replacing Darrell Revis. Patriots defense is lucky that Le’Veon Bell will not be playing in this one, but the Steelers offense has more than enough to drive the ball down the field behind a revitalized DeAngelo Williams who looked like it was 2013 when he was taking carries in his last preseason game. Big Ben will also be without his young star in Martavis Bryant which means we should see Antonio Brown get at least 15 targets in this one. While the Steelers offense will have success, will it be enough for the victory?
When the Patriots have the ball, they will be without a true Running Back as it is anyone’s guess who will lead the way without LeGarrette Blount who is suspended for this one. While it is obvious to point to Brandon Bolden as the guy who should lead the way for the Patriots backfield, do not be surprised to see a lot of James White who looked very shifty during the preseason. The biggest problem the Patriots will have on offense is chemistry. Tom Brady played with backups all preseason and it showed as he went 3 & Out nearly every possession, this time around he will get his two favorite toys in Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman who should both be very busy tonight, especially with no Brandon LaFell. Despite that, the Patriots have not shown anything yet on paper this preseason and one good drive or even two, would be the best we have seen the Patriots since the Superbowl. While I do have faith that the Patriots will get it together against the overrated Steelers defense who is without Troy Polomalu. This will still be a battle that will come down to the very end.
