As you may have noticed, there is a lot less Ravens slander this year than last. This year of course we touched on J.K. Dobbins being a player to avoid but last year we were all in on the Ravens being a BUST team due to the fact they lost Hollywood Brown and did nothing to replace him. Why have we not talked about Lamar Jackson being a BUST yet in 2023? The reason why, is I like what the Ravens did this off-season. Bringing in Odell who still has game, to pair with Bateman who has great speed, and even though I did not like Zay Flowers in Fantasy for the amount of opportunities heading into the season, he is showing that he always needs his targets. Does not mean he will always perform well in Fantasy, but he is very talented. Cannot forget Lamar’s best weapon in Mark Andrews, even Nelson Agholor and Isiah Likely are making early contributions.

Most important of all, the new offensive coordinator Todd Monken has Lamar really opening up the airwaves. There is a lot to like about Lamar, but he was not the BEAST DOME QB because sometimes he is too inconsistent. While it has all been good so far for Lamar, this week Lamar faces a very tough challenge against this year’s most improved defense in the Cleveland Browns, where he will prove that inconsistency.

Ravens are without Odell and Bateman, they are on the road, and Lamar is missing some of his offensive line. It is not going to be an easy game at all for Lamar who makes a living throwing INTs against the Browns. Since 2021, Lamar has 1 TD and 4 INTs against the Browns, and now the Browns D is better than ever.

If you own Lamar Jackson in a season league, there is no reason to play him in this matchup. He will be running for his life and the Browns Linebackers are very athletic. There will be better days for Lamar ahead, but Week 4 on the road with half of his weapons out is not going to be a better day.
