FANTASY FOOTBALL BREECE THE BUST VOL 2

Last season I wrote off Breece Hall as a BUST. If it was not for a season-long ACL injury sustained early on, I would have been wrong. Below is the article for everyone to ready what I wrote last season. He was the 5th Round Pick of BUST YOUR TEAM 2022 (2023 coming soon).

FANTASY FOOTBALL BREECE THE BUST (BREECE HALL)

This Preseason, the Sheep websites have been promoting Breece Hall as the next BEAST thing. There is no doubt that the Jets selected a star RB, but even when I did my preseason analysis of the Jets back in July, it was obvious this was going to be a RBBC.

OFFENSE

Breece Hall is the real deal, will be somewhat of a RBBC just because there is too much talent on the roster. Zach Wilson is not really that good, CJ Uzomah was an okay addition, but this offense will rely on small gains and moving the chains. Moore and Davis are not reliable enough, the Jets offense will not be doing much this season.

Last season the Sheep were all wrong on Michael Carter as many of the sheep websites had you reach for him as a starting RB on your roster. This season they are all making the same mistake with, “BREECE THE BEAST.”

Michael Carter is not only still on the roster, but his NFL career is just getting started as a potential starting RB in the NFL. Cannot forget about La’Mical Perine as well who has looked very good in limited action. Toe injuries slowed down his rookie season, then MIchael Carter slowed down his sophmore year with injuries mixed in. As a third year player, Perine is going to take every touch with an extra touch of this could be his last. Cannot forget Ty Johnson who is a PPR king. Cannot forget about Tevin Coleman as well who is still somehow in the NFL. Unlike his former Falcon teammate Devonta Freeman. How time flies.

While Breece is definitely a BEAST, he is not in the right situation on a poor offense that is going to fail to score a lot of points. The Jets will be throwing a lot because they will most likely be losing, and when the Jets are trailing there is no lock that Hall is going to be on the field.

This is what I wrote about the Jets this preseason.

(5/16/23) NEW YORK JETS (2nd AFC EAST)

Jets brought in the entire Rodgers/Packers organization it felt like. From OC Nathaniel Hackett to a list of Packers that will make everyone think it is the New York Packers. Jets had an amazing defense last year that was let down by arguably the worst offense in the AFC. They brought in Aaron Rodgers, now it is time to see if they are ready to win it all.

OFFENSE

Aaron Rodgers has a lot of weapons. While Garrett Wilson is arguably the best WR on the group, Rodgers has a lot of toys he already loves. Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb will make some plays, Corey Davis has the best QB he has ever had, and the Packers brought in Mecole Hardman Jr. There are a lot of guys Rodgers can throw the ball to, which makes all of his weapons hard to trust in Fantasy. At the end of the day, Rodgers will be able to sling the ball in the air with ease.

Running the ball will be great for the Jets as well. Breece Hall is a BEAST and being healthy with defenses worried about the pass, Breece will BEAST. Michael Carter is the backup RB, he is a good handcuff to draft very late as he is very talented, but Breece Hall showed he is a NFL star and would have easily been the Rookie of the Year if he was healthy. Jets O-Line can block, and Hall will be a goal line BEAST.

(8/16/23) NEW YORK JETS

OFFENSE

RUNNING

The Jets have an amazing RB duo in Dalvin Cook and Breece Hall. The Jets have one goal this season, that is to win the Super Bowl. Dalvin and Hall (as long as Hall is healthy) are going to split time so evenly, that both will be productive RBs. The Jets will be scoring a lot of points this season, and having two RBs that are superstars will keep them both on the field.

While it all sounds good for the Jets offense. The truth is it is not great for Breece Hall nor Dalvin Cook to be relied upon as consistent fantasy weapons with a high draft pick. Both are looking at High-End RB3 value on average. Even if Breece Hall is healthy to start the season, it is going to be a committee. The most realistic option for the Jets is not to rush Breece Hall back, even though you know he wants to be back. Dalvin Cook is a Pro Bowl caliber RB, and the Jets have a heavy hitter in Breece Hall who would have looked amazing if he had the job to himself. Those who wasted a 2nd/3rd Round Pick on Breece just ended up with a 6th/7th Round value RB. Dalvin Cook is going to be in the same ball park as a 6th/7th Round value RB. Both have RB2 upside every week (80 Yards/1 TD), but both also have low-end RB3 downside as well (60 Total Yards). Neither are part of the Draft Guide.

Despite this reality that Dalvin Cook is getting paid $8.6 Million and is on the Jets. Sheep are still selecting Breece Hall in the 4th Round of their Fantasy Football Drafts like a solid RB2. Breece will still end up as a Top 25 RB more likely than not (as well as Dalvin Cook), but Breece’s inconsistency and slow start to the season can easily put you in a deep hole. Breece might not see RB1 value all season long. There is also a chance he is on your bench for the week he goes off like a RB1, Dalvin Cook will be on the field just as much as Breece and he may be the better RB with a higher IQ and great hands.

If Breece Hall is not ready to start the season, Dalvin Cook will be ranked ahead of Breece Hall in Final Rankings.

With the NFL devaluing single RBs, the likelihood of you standing on a landmine goes up every single season. The Sheep are screaming from the mountain tops wrong answers year after year after year. If you are with the BEAST DOME NATION this season, you will be coasting through your Fantasy Football season with a smile on your face. Just like all of us did last season with #1 RB Josh Jacobs we stole in Round 4/5.
