BRAVES @ PHILLIES

Bryce Elder takes the mound for the Braves and there are two different camps on him. One believes he is the real deal, others believe he is not the real deal. I lean towards not the real deal side, and this matchup on the road in Philly will prove what the truth is. Elder has lived up to the hype many times this season, but this Phillies team is feeling good and winning games.

Aaron Nola is nowhere near the Ace he once was, but he can still pitch a gem any given start. This is not an easy matchup, but Nola is a strong starter and at home he can prevail. The Braves lineup is very strong so if Nola is not on his A Game just a little bit, things will spiral in the wrong direction fast. I like the Braves bats, they have easily one of the best offenses in MLB.

PHILLIES 6

ARIZONA @ WASHINGTON

Tommy Henry takes the mound and although he is not horrible, he is not very good either. Nationals offense is never an offense you can definitely trust, but they can hit Henry if he is not on his A game. Not the greatest collection of hitters but they have been hitting better pitchers than Henry as of late. I do believe Henry can get it going against this offense and avoid any trouble.

Jake Irvin is not a good pitcher and if he was not on the Nationals, he would not be in MLB. D-Backs are one of the hottest offenses in the game, good reason why they are in 1st place in the NL West, and that should continue to show. Everyone is doing their part in this offense and Irvin will be lucky to last 5 INN.

NATIONALS 3

BOSTON @ MINNESOTA

Look for a bullpen game from the Red Sox, which can be tricky as offenses can never really get any timing going. As soon as they build any momentum off of a pitcher, he is out of the game. The Twins are also an offense that is not afraid to play matchups so some hitters like Joey Gallo may only get a couple of at-bats. Red Sox bullpen is not great, and the Twins can definitely produce so in the end, I do like the Twins to figure out this Red Sox Bullpen.

Joe Ryan the BEAST DOME stud is pitching for the Twins. Red Sox bats are so hot, does not matter how good Ryan has been this season. If Ryan is off his game by just a centimeter, the Red Sox are going to do damage. This is a game where I would avoid Ryan.

TWINS 4

OAKLAND @ CLEVELAND

J.P. Sears takes the mound, and although he is not a great pitcher, he does matchup well against the Indians bats. As long as he can take care of Jose Ramirez, Sears could come out of this game with a decent start. At the end of the day, would not put money on Sears as he is not reliable, but the Indians bats are not scary against his stuff and he can throw one of his better games this season.

Logan Allen is pitching for Cleveland, and although he has turned his stuff on as of late, he can also fall back into old habits. A’s can get to Allen as they have a lot of bats that matchup well like Laureano/Rooker/Perez/Diaz. Allen needs to get his K pitch working, if he does not, runners on base and big Innings will happen.

ATHLETICS 4

INDIANS 3

PADRES @ GIANTS

Blake Snell takes the mound for the Padres, and that takes Joc Pederson out of the game. Yaz is hurt as well, so the Giants offense that is really not that great becomes very thin. Snell is also pitching well so he should continue that momentum in a very friendly pitcher environment against a team that will be lucky to get a lot of offense off of him.

Alex Wood is pitching for the Giants, and he is over the hill. Padres bats should definitely be able to do damage throughout the lineup and loadup on chances to score runs. From top to bottom, Wood will be in trouble and it does not look for the former top prospect a decade ago.
