TAX. DEATH. & Ohtani performing in primetime. It has been a while since there has been a Must-Watch sports game outside of NBA Playoffs, but Ohtani pitching against the Dodgers is the closest thing we have. Ohtani has been struggling on the mound as of late not being the CY Young candidate he showed he could be. In May he had an ERA at 4.06, in June he just lowered it after a nice start against the Rangers in Texas to 4.76.
While those two ERA numbers are not impressive at all, it is impressive Ohtani pitched a dominant game against Nate Eovaldi and the great hitting Texas Rangers. Now Ohtani takes that momentum to his home ball park against a Dodgers team that is not hitting like they once were. Max Muncy being out has hurt the squad, Mookie is not really hitting for much power as of late. Smith and Freeman have been a little ho hum in the power department as well, while the back of the Dodgers lineup is not scary at all.
Pitching for the Dodgers is Michael Grove, and he should change his name to Groove how he just grooves pitches down the middle. Angels hitters can definitely hit him and expect some early fireworks from the squad as they come to bat amped up with their superstar on the mound.
Angels will take it from the Dodgers no problem. However the way to play this is to take the first 5 Innings, do not deal with this game once Ohtani is not pitching.
