The second round. Definitely one of the most important rounds of Fantasy Basketball, as is all of your early picks. However the 2nd Round gives you the opportunity to take a superstar that was overlooked in Round 1. Last season the BEAST DOME Fantasy Basketball Draft Guide had you select Luka with your 2nd Round Picks in all leagues.

This year in the 2nd Round with an Average Draft Position of #17, Jimmy Butler will sit on the board. While there is no denying that Butler has raised to another level of dominance as an NBA player after his amazing post season run last year. Let us not be fooled by the bigger picture. The bigger picture is the Heat just finished the NBA finals a couple months ago, and the Heat are STACKED with role players who would love more opportunities to shine. Jimmy Butler can definitely turn it on whenever he wants and perform like a 2nd Round/3rd Round Pick with 20 Points to go with a handful of assists and rebounds.

However with the season starting so soon, look for Butler to be more or less a superstar role player. Get Herro involved, let Duncan shoot the ball 10+ times, get Nunn some confidence, Iggy some minutes. Offense could easily run through Bam Bam in the high post some nights, leaving Butler with one of those soft. 12 Points/6 Assists/4 Rebounds nights. While he will always get you a bit of everything, you could see the first month and a half if not longer get you those soft numbers. Heat are destined for the playoffs again, and Butler will perform like the 2nd Round Pick he is being drafted to be as we approach the mid-way point and the Heat need to find their identity and chemistry to make another post season run.
