WATER UNDER THE BRIDGE

BEAST DOME NATION.
During the Preseason, there are always a few players who do very well in August, only to be less than Average in September. While the landmines of Jarvis Landry and Martavis Bryant are doing their thing early to get the Sheep lined up on the slaughter wagon, there is another player who is creeping up Draft Boards quicker than Eli Manning feeling the heat from his garbage O-Line. Teddy Bridgewater.
TEDDY BRIDGEWATER: BUST
TEDDY BRIDGEWATER FANTASYPROS QB RANK
When analyzing Teddy Bridgewater as a player, you still see a college caliber QB who has a below average arm, and above average speed. Problem is Teddy does not like to run a lot, and the bigger issue is the fact he is on an offense that has three goals in mind.
1. To feed Adrian Peterson.
2. To feed Adrian Peterson.
3. To feed Adrian Peterson.
You look at other QB’s in the league, and non will feature a running game as hard as the Vikings in 2015, maybe the Bills. The Vikings just spent a ton of money on Adrian Peterson and you can guarantee the Vikings will use their toy until it is broken down. The thing about Adrian Peterson is that he never does break down. Knock on wood, forget about ACL.
Teddy Bridgewater is simply a game manager at the QB position. Ya, he may try a deep bomb or two to Mike Wallace, but let’s be real about Bridgewater’s arm strength, nothing exciting about it. Teddy does have nice weapons with Kyle Rudolph and Charles Johnson, but between the three, including Wallace, only one of them will have be Fantasy Worthy each week. In most cases none of them will be worthy when the Vikings give the ball to Adrian Peterson 30 times including 8+ times through the air.
The Vikings philosophy this season as a team is simple. Run the Ball, Play Good Defense. Which is the opposite of, live and die by Bridgewater carrying this offense down the field and trying to get into shootouts with other teams. So while Teddy Bridgewater has looked good against a Steelers defense for a handful of plays, a Buc’s Defense that is borderline NCAA worthy, and a Raiders Defense that limited Teddy to nothing special. There seems to be a lot of hype for a QB that is nothing more than a College QB on Run 1st/2nd/3rd Football Team.
When you are at your Draft Room and you see a Fantasy Owner reach for Teddy Birdgewater as a High-End backup QB, look down at your paper and think to yourself. This owner is a sheep for listening to all the Hype on Bridgewater being one of the few QBs to throw for a TD pass in every week from 7 through the end of the season. The truth is 60% of those games only 1 TD pass, and 0% of those games were 3 TD or more.
So if you want a Game Manager as your backup QB, or even your starting QB according to other sites. Go ahead and donate your money to the Fantasy Football pot and enjoy watching Adrian Peterson steal the show for Teddy’s season.
