Everyone was doubting Fernando Rodney this preseason. Some not even ranking him in the Top 25. Why? Because other Experts do not watch baseball and study teams on a day-to-day basis like I do. Other experts are more aware of looking at names of players and thinking stats repeat themselves instead of studying the players as a whole.

Fernando Rodney was a player who was getting the perfect opportunity to go to a Seattle Mariners team that wins games with small ball. Great pitching, key hitting, close games. A closer like Rodney was going to get his opportunities, and he did.

JOHNNY CUETO – CIN

 20 Wins. 242 Ks. 2.25 ERA. 0.96 WHIP

Do the stats really need to say more. If Clayton Kershaw (The best pitcher of our time) was pitching in any other generation. Johnny Cueto easily walks away with the CY Young award, a pitcher everyone wrote off due to injuries. Including all of the Haters Favorite Expert Scott Pianowski.
