FANTASY BASKETBALL TRADE MARKET (Week 7)
FANTASY BASKETBALL TRADE MARKET (Week 7)
BY SIR FANTASY DRAKE
In this article Sir Fantasy Drake will headline a few key fantasy basketball players he would sell, or buy. You can ask questions about other players value and either Sir Fantasy will answer your questions.
BUY:
*Players that have value that will go up as the season rolls on.
DeAndre Jordan (C) Clippers
It’s tough to find a good fantasy center if you weren’t fortunate enough to get a Dwight Howard or Andrew Bynum. But here are a couple guys that can definitely get the job done for your team. DeAndre Jordan is a great rebounder (9 or more each of the last 6 games and averaging 9 a game), and although he is limited offensively we know he can dunk. And with all the good PGs in Lob City, he can put up some points at times. Jordan can be a double-double guy, BUY DeAndre Jordan.
Anderson Varejao (C) Cavaliers
Anderson Varejao believe it or not is putting up real solid numbers so far this season. He’s averaging 11 points and 12 boards a game yet he still seems to get overlooked, mainly because of the team he plays on. But nevertheless, Varejao is a good option at center, BUY Anderson Varejao.
Paul George (G) Pacers
You still got to be careful of trusting players on the Pacers, but Paul George is so talented and such a stat sheet stuffer that it almost doesn’t matter whether or not he scores a lot. George is an athletic 2 guard that has grown to be 6’10” and has a good stroke from the outside (46.7% from 3). George has set new career highs with 24 and then 30 points this week but even when he doesn’t score a ton he still gets fantasy points for his almost 6 rebounds a game, 2 dimes and adds in some steals. BUY Paul George.
SELL:
*Players that value may not get any higher and you should cash in now.
Joe Johnson (G) Hawks
If he’s on your team, you know firsthand how inconsistent Joe Johnson can be. The main reason for this is that he’s a selfish player and only really cares about his averages. Just look at his last few games, he had a 26 point game on January 23rd followed by a 10 point effort. Then he came out and got his 30 to raise the average and followed it up with 9 points his next outing, only to come back with another 30 then another 10 point showing. He’s more trouble than he’s worth. SELL Joe Johnson and target Mike Conley in return.
Trevor Ariza (F) HORNETS
After his 26 point outburst on Saturday night, Trevor Ariza’s value is peaking right now. He’s on a bad team and has been very inconsistent. Before Saturday, he had topped 9 points just once in his last 6 games, and he does nothing that special in any other statistical categories. So while you may be able to make a decent deal for him, SELL Trevor Ariza and target Tayshaun Prince in return, a proven decent fantasy option.
David West (F) Pacers
Another big name that has succumbed to Pacer-itis unfortunately is David West. That team has a lot of good players meaning no one guy can really be a great fantasy player. West is averaging less than 12 points and 7 boards a game and is obviously struggling to find his place in Indiana, illustrated by his 4 point showing on Saturday night. SELL David West and look for Luis Scola in return, who after a few ugly performances will start to pick up the production.
