THE CHAMPIONSHIP BEAST DRAFT STRATEGY

BEAST DOME NATION.
I understand that all drafts are different, however this Strategy pertains to all leagues. If you follow this strategy, you will win your Championship.
2018 BEAST DOME PICKS vs. EXPERTS
Before we dive into the round by round action. I want to make a couple of points clear.
CATCHER POSITION
If it is a 2 catcher league, do everything in your power to get Realmuto and Sanchez, if you miss Sanchez or Realmuto. Wait a few rounds and grab Willson Contreras. If you miss those guys, your season might as well be over. Not kidding you are playing at a huge disadvantage.
CLOSERS
BRAD HAND/SEAN DOOLITTLE/CODY ALLEN/WADE DAVIS/HUNTER STRICKLAND
You need 3 of these guys, if not 4. To have all these guys, you will not have to worry about the closer position all season long.
STARTING PITCHERS
No Pitcher is safe. Which means we are punting the position and going with all my sleeper starting pitchers. They are my special bunch and managing them is going to be a thrill.
2019 FANTASY BASEBALL BEAST STRATEGY
If you miss any player, no big deal, just jump to the next round suggested pick and be one step ahead of the game. You will also always see studs fall in your Draft checkout the Rankings below.
1st ROUND PICK
Take the best hitter. I personally believe in Trea Turner being a Top 3 pick, but you cannot pass on Mike Trout or Jose Ramirez. You probably have to go Nolan Arenado, but after him, Trea Turner could get you 70+ SBs this season, his manager already challenged him to get 80+. With 20 HRs, those numbers are legendary.
2nd ROUND PICK
I would try to lock down Javier Baez. The guy qualifies at 2B/3B/SS, he is electric. He can steal bases at any moment, he can hit for pop at any moment. You draft Baez, you got potential fireworks every night.
If you miss Baez, skip to Round 3 and lock down two of those targets.
3rd ROUND PICK
Story/Stanton/Blackmon,
If you can get any of those 3 picks, your season will be on cruise control. Stanton could easily lead the majors in HRs. Story is a potential 40 HR SS who also can steal 20 Bases, and Blackmon is a flat out BEAST who puts up big numbers nearly every night.
If you miss those 3, go after Hoskins a round early.
4th ROUND PICK
If you are in a 1 catcher league, you go with Rhys Hoskins. Hoskins could easily hit 50+ HRs and have 140+ RBIs on the season. Rhy will have RBI opportunities every time he comes to bat, nobody will take his time.
If you miss Hoskins, skip to Round 5.
5th ROUND PICK
JT Realmuto. If you are in a 2 catcher league, it is not end of the world if you get Realmuto in Round 4, because you will need Gary Sanchez who you will pray at this point he makes it back to you in Round 6. Realmuto will be a RBI machine, hit around .300+ and could hit a career high in HRs in that tiny ball park.
6th ROUND PICK
GARY SANCHEZ. If you are in a two catcher league, you can scream and shout at this steal of a deal. Sanchez could easily hit 40+ HRs and drive in 100+ RBIs with that stacked Yankees lineup. Future Hall of Famer is in the works.
If you miss Sanchez, Jesus Aguilar is a STEAL!
7th ROUND PICK
BRAD HAND. You are reaching for Hand, but you are locking down the save category with one of the most reliable. The Indians are going to win a lot of games, and both Allen/Miller are no longer in town so the job is all Brad Hand’s. All hands on deck.
8th ROUND PICK
DEE GORDON. Dee is on a good Seattle team that has a lot of role players that can hit him in. He will be a candidate to steal a base every single game, and they will depend on his wheels. The run category will make up for the lack of power and RBIs, but there are few like Dee who can impact a category so huge. He also qualifies at SS!
If you pair Dee up with Trea Turner, you will dominate in speed.
9th ROUND PICK
WIL MYERS. Read all about Wil here.
10th ROUND PICK
SEAN DOOLITTLE. Doolittle should be a candidate for 40 Saves as the Nationals will still have a chance to win the NL East despite losing Harper. Doolittle knows how to close down games at the end.
11th ROUND PICK
MIKE MOUSTAKAS. Steal of a deal, Moustakas is a BEAST who will be playing 2B everyday for the Brewers. He will be in the middle of a stacked lineup and can easily get 30+ HRs and 100+ RBIs. Great value.
12th ROUND PICK
MAX MUNCY. For some reason, everyone is fearing Muncy sitting out too many games because of Dave Roberts and his rotations. Muncy was very strong against lefties, and if the Dodgers start playing David Freese instead of Muncy, I would be shocked. Maybe for the first couple of weeks, but once Muncy starts smashing balls, they will not take him out. He qualifies at 1B/2B/3B, what a weapon for 40+ HRs.
13th ROUND PICK
CODY ALLEN. Once you get Cody Allen, you get a closer who will guarantee himself about 40 saves that goes very late. The Angels paid up for Allen, and have nobody who will take his spot. When the Angels win, which they will with that nice core middle of the lineup, Cody Allen will lock it down.
DRAFT RESULTS AFTER 13 ROUNDS
*ALLEN NOT SHOWN ON ROSTER*
Of course you try to stay on course, but things happen during your draft and you have to adjust. Having a team like this will have you on your way to winning a Championship.
