Fantasy Basketball Trade Market: Sell High & Walk Away (Week 6)
Fantasy Basketball Trade Market:
Sell High & Walk Away (Week 6)
By Muntradamus
BEAST DOME NATION.
These are players I would look to trade in seasonal format leagues after this week, or next time they get hot. To see the players I recommended earlier this season in the Trade Market. Follow the link.
THE KARDASHIAN CURSE
SELL
TYSON CHANDLER/J.R. SMITH – NYK
Both of these players should be players you are looking to sell off. While Chandler is hitting the stride and could put up MVP type performances this week. It is a good idea to move him now because in a few weeks Amar’e will return. When Amar’e returns, Chandler does a lot less offensively and will lose touches whether owners believe it or not.
In the case of J.R. Smith, when Amar’e returns he becomes the automatic #2 scorer if not #1 in this offense. That will push J.R. to more inconsistency that his owners probably do not want to afford anymore.
Both of these players can give you great names. For Chandler try getting DeMarcus Cousins, but settle for Roy Hibbert. For J.R. Smith, try to go after DeMar DeRozan or settle with Wes Matthews.
TYREKE EVANS – G/F – SAC
Tyreke is doing exactly what he does every season. He will put up a couple of big games, then something will happen where he plays like a #4 guard, then plays like a MVP, then falls back-to-earth. This time Tyreke suffered a minor injury where he could play Wednesday. I mentioned selling him earlier, your chances will be gone temporarily if you wait.
You can try Tyreke for Monta Ellis when Evans is playing at his PRIME. Make the move when it feels right, do it during a hot-streak.
JOE JOHNSON/GERALD WALLACE/KRIS HUMPHRIES – BRK
Humphries was mentioned last time, and Joe Johnson was mentioned as a BUST candidate. Right now is a good time to sell all three of these players while Brook Lopez is temporaily injured. When Brook is healthy, he is the clear #1 option in that offense leaving these three scraping for points every night. Do yourself a favor and make the move now before each player puts up random single digit games.
You can trade Gerald Wallace for DeMar DeRozan.
You can trade Joe Johnson for Brandon Knight.
You can trade Kris Humphries for Derrick Favors while injured.
PAU GASOL – PF/C – LAL
Here’s a player that is losing all value in Fantasy Basketball quickly. What people don’t realize is that he has great 6th man potential in a Lakers offense that could use one. At least that’s what you can tell them if they say he is worthless. Right now you can get a bag of peanuts for Pau, and I would do just that try grabbing an injured Derrick Favors straight up. If that does not work, try getting Larry Sanders a player who can make a huge impact in block shots.
Knee tendinitis in D’Antonis’ offense is a terrible combination. Him and Dwight on the court at the same time does not work, nobody will want to trade for him and that huge contract this season.
DAVID WEST – PF – IND
Inconsistent. That is a small side effect to David West who is on a star studded team where anyone from George Hill to Paul George could go off any night. Tuesday we saw Paul George explode for 34 Points while David West failed to make a FG. While West will have his string of 20/10 games consistently, that is when you have to sell him off.
Once Danny Granger returns, David West will be a good Forward, but not nearly as good as the type of forward you can get for West now.
Once West gets hot, try aiming for Nicolas Batum, Kevin Garnett, even his teammate Roy Hibbert who will give you a lot of blocks and rebounds consistently and qualifies at Center.
MICHAEL KIDD-GILCHRIST – SF – CHA
The young raw potential is there. But the scoring is not. With Gerald Henderson back getting his feet wet, there is limited room in this rotation for MKG. Ben Gordon/Ramon Sessions are playing too well to sit on the bench, especially with Charlotte doing well. Only time will tell what the Bobcats do with their rotation. For now I would avoid it and try to get Larry Sanders for MKG straight up in a trade.

Hey Munt,
Thank you for guiding me to first place in my Fantasy Football league! I am now using you for basketball as well. What do you think about trading Vasquez and AK47 for Anthony Davis?
Here’s my team:
PG – Curry, Lillard, Rubio, Vasquez
SG- Paul George, Klay Thompson
SF- Durant, MWP, AK47, Kawhi Leonard
PF,C- Cousins, Bosh, Barg, Vucevic, Pekovic
Hey guys,
My David West and Joe Johnson for his Kirilenko and Kevin Martin?
I am in a 6 team H2H league. The competition is pretty tough as all the good players have been taken.
My roster is:
Chris Paul
Goran Dragic
Mike Conley
James Harden
Nicolas Batum
Carmelo Anthony
Chandler Parsons
Ryan Anderson
Dirk Nowitzki
LaMarcus Aldridge
Joakim Noah
Tim Duncan
Marcin Gortat
I am currently first in the league but I am trying to ship Marcin somewhere. As he wont give me any value for a one-one trade. I was thinking of giving up james harden and marcin gortat for josh smith and wesley mathews or chris bosh and louis scola. any suggestions coz i really dont want to give harden away!!
I’m in a 12 team head to head league and my team is:
Felton
Kobe Bryant
James Harden
Deng
Pau
Greg Monroe
Faried
Varejao
Redick
Nash
Brook Lopez
Valanciunas
Kyle Singler
I’m leading the league in rebounds and I was leading in FG% but Harden killed it.
Should I try to move Harden or any of my big men? I was considering moving Harden for Ryan Anderson or Paul George. I need 3PM, assists, and blocks.
I am in first place in the league and I am offered LeBron for Blake Griffin and Kyle Lowery. My other pt. guards are Holiday, Curry, Ellis, Lillard, best FA are Henderson, or Korver. What are your thoughts?
Thanks
I would definitely make that trade.
Anyone have any success trading out JR or MDG?
Hey Anonymous, if you do it now, you might be able to trade Harden for Batum. Blocks, assists, rebounds and blocks. If you can take the slight hit in scoring (u can).
